empty pages in an empty book
I glance over my shoulder and take one last look
at my life to this point, with its ups and its downs
the days filled with smiles and the days filled with frowns

then my eyes turn a’front, to the path lay ahead
my steps small and timid, unsure where to tread
the great white expanse where my life will unfold
seems so big right now, I'm more timid than bold

a world without boundaries, true freedom can provide
but without doors and walls where is there to hide?
without arms to run back to, with no place to feel safe
will I manage alone to succeed in lifes race?

and so here I stand, upright on page one
here is the start, my journey has begun
where the future will lead me I know not at this time
but I know this one thing, I am destined to shine
